#16 is alive again!

Post by fact5racer » Sat Nov 28, 2009 6:30 pm

Just want those that know me from the club, that I will be back this comming season, especially for the away events. I bought a 2005 350Z track model to campaign in SSGT. I used to run a Mustang GT in this class years ago before jumping into FFR spec racers and then the 98 Champcar. It's been hard for me to justify a open cockpit car with concerns of driving all the way to away events only to sit and watch others run while it's raining. I also miss the reliablity that a oem car brings. Will I miss the power? YES, will I miss the 1800lbs? YES, will I miss the sequential gearbox, squeezed into a cockpit where you feel like Clint Eastwood in the movie Firefox where all you have to do is think turn and the car turns, YES! But now there is a new factor in racing for me.............The ECONOMY! But I think this is gonna be fun again and I really look forward to returning to Mt Tremblant.

Not many people in my world get to share track time with Champ Cars 8)

I totally understand the desire to just get out there and drive however...

Don't tell my wife, BUT the four times I got to drive that car were the four greatest days of my life. It was last thing to cross off on my "bucket" list
