Who bags their tires?

Post by TroyV » Mon Jan 23, 2006 5:06 pm

I just picked up some Avon Tech R's on close out from the TireRack and the date code on them is from week 21 of 04. They seem to be sticky to the touch. I assume bagging the tires will help keep them fresh.. Any tips on this... anything to throw in the bag? etc.. ...or is this all urban myth?..

No myth. The oils in tires do evaporate with time. Plastic bags will help. As far as throwing something in there...if you have a cat, watching it run around like a gerbil should be fun until the wife finds out. Won't do much to save your tires though.

What do I do with my tires ? Well the true profesional that I am- most of my race rubber is still on my trailer tire rack covered in snow :(
