Calabogie updated info

Post by dinoracer » Mon Jan 16, 2006 9:53 pm

Apparently there has been progress at this new track

taken from their website:

<<On October 17, 2005 the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing approved the required Amendment allowing Calabogie Motorsports Park to exist in the Official Plan for the County of Renfrew. This decision was based on work done at the Municipal and County levels of government, and review by other respective Provincial agencies. This is the final approval required for CMP. Along with the Municipal re-zoning amendment of October 12, 2004, this decision has been appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board, a process that should be concluded over the Winter season, and be handled concurrently with the 2004 zoning appeal.

Calabogie MotorSports will not be taking bookings for the 2006 season at this time. Bookings will be taken this Spring, once the appeals process has been cleared, and a firm paving date has been confirmed. Preference will be given to those that had taken tentative bookings for the 2005 season, and a system for bookings will be sent out in early Spring to all groups and individuals that have made inquiries over the last 24 months. Again , the track will be rented at an introductory rate for the shortened season, and as an incentive to prospective clients, passes for CMP’s exclusive pre-opening test weekend will accompany each rental for the 2006 season. Our projected opening date is July 1 st, 2006. All rental inquiries can be emailed to: info@calabogiemotorsports.com

We’d like to thank everyone for their patience, enthusiasm, and continued support. TrackCorpCanada Inc. continues to receive a very high volume of inquiries and requests. A thorough website update is scheduled for Spring 2006 , and will include information on accommodations, restaurants and services, local and regional points of interest, track policies and regulations, marshalling, and ambulance service. >>

Great News!! Hopefully the new BOD will request 2 dates at least as we continue to lose NHIS dates. Located about 2 hrs west of Montreal makes this track reachable by the majority of the members.
