mont-tremblant FUNNNNNNNNNNN !!!!

Post by 962porsche » Wed Jun 10, 2009 12:50 pm

IF YOU DID NOT GO ? you missed out on a grate time !! saturday was nice and sunny but sunday rain . Sam's no rain dance did not work this time ??? maybe it only works for tracks in the USA ? there was another down side than just the rain . the guy with the white honda S2000 hit the wall in the time trials . in class PB John Spain used my porsche 944 . i think he took the win ? with a 217 time WITH A DRYING TRACK AND I HEATED THE TIRES UP FIRST ! that is the story i'm sticking with !! David Yu's in his subaru along with SAM with speedy and Greg with his #330 BMW did not look like they were not having fun in the rain with there tires . how many drivers will be looking to get full wet tires now ? i don't mind the rain with my car . its the only time i'm passing other people .

There was not 1 hour the last two days I did not think of how much fun you guys(and gals) would be having, rain or shine! Sorry to hear Sam broke his streak of dry time trials, but he's only human  Thanks for posting and glad to at least read about the good times.

I was one of the drivers who bailed (no pun intended) after a few laps in the wet on slick tires. Been there - done that - destroyed car. However, Monday was a great track day, and I got to sort out new suspension settings, test a new motor, and hang out with good company at Nino's. No complaints here, except that I hope we can get our August date back for next year.

I had a great time the first day. Second day wasn't so much fun. It went down hill after my 70 mph spin off the track in turn 6 on the second lap of the 2nd practice. Lesson learned. Just ordered a set of hoosier rain tires.

Congratulations to all the trophy winners. Incredably fast times for the conditions.

See you at NHMS in july

I'm another one of those who bailed...driven LCMT in the rain often enough (incl the week before!)to know that an 'off' can cost dearly, so left the trophy runs to those who were in it for the points. It'd be tough for me to fix/repair my 22yr old quasi-vintage ride. Glad y'all enjoyed it anyway

Here's a clip I filmed on Monday (please, no critique of my 'different' line...its so because of gearing ahd vehicle specific dynamics, etc)

It was great seeing y'all

For the first time I had decent rain tires on a rainy day, so I'll offer another point of view: I had a blast on Tuesday! :D

Really, the whole event was great fun, from the beautiful weather on Monday to the challenging rain on Tuesday to the great company both days. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event happen!

I had a blast on both days as I was running slicks for both days. I really did enjoy running slicks in the rain as it was very difficult control but fun. My Subaru was either understeer or oversteer the whole entire time for me. So much for AWD advantage! I will try and buy real rain tires next time.

I spanned out during my second lap of the time trial but I was spinning the whole entire time on the racing surface, thank god!!!.

Congrads to the trophy winners and great driving. See you all in NHMS in Aug.

I agree! Great fun Monday in the perfect weather. Got to learn the track and no new marks on the car :D , although it's a tough track to learn when you are watching your mirrors all the time! There are some really fast guys running this track. I had to be at least 15 seconds off the pace of more than a few of them. Still had a god time. I sat Tuesday out in the rain. I wasn't going to attampt it with slicks. Nice to meet some more good people, also.

Many thanks to Poppa Swineheart, Jason and Sam for the use of the Sentra during the time trials when my parts for the Civic didn't arrive in time to drive my own car. It would have been nice if ya'll had Hoosier Rains for me to run with as well, but I suppose beggars can't be choosers ;)
