COM Registration Site is down . . .

Post by boltonite » Tue Mar 24, 2009 2:57 pm

The COM Registration site was taken offline at 11:30 am today to add new features and fix a few flaws, it should be back up shortly, I apologize for the inconvenience.

The main enhancements you will notice are:

1. Entry List -- View an entry list via a "Current Entry List" link at the top of the Event page for an event.

2. My Registrations -- View your event registrations via a >> My Registrations << link on the left-nav menu.

3. Members Only Page -- View a "Members only" landing page via a >> Members Only << link on the left-nav menu. You can view COM Time Trial entrants, events, track, car classes, and results via this page.

Starting today, anyone who creates a new account will be defined as a "student" by default and will be able to register for events only as a Student. If you are not a student (i.e., you are Licensed or an Instructor) please contact Paul Shearer to have your membership information updated.

Let me know if you encounter any problems with the site. Thanks, see you at the track.

Thanks Fred -the time trial results will save a lot of time searching results.

Now hopefully members can see the status of their current registration and they won't register twice or three or four or even five times for the same event.

Nice work.

Fantastic to have 11 years of time trial history on line.
Now when are you going to put in my first 11 years of time trials?

Thanks, if you can dredge up the old tt results I'll import them. It was a surprise to see a few pro guys (Eric Curran, Myers) among the entrants.

FYI: a "Pay" link on the>> My Registrations << page lets you make an electronic payment on a previously-submitted registration. For those of you who do not pay at checkout and wish to pay later (using pay-by-check), use the "Pay" link instead of going thru checkout a 2nd time. Thx. -FF

^Thanks for that link,Mark. For some reason,if I don't pay when registering,I can not find the "pay" screen again.

Additional mods have been made to the site to improve performance and responsiveness - it's getting dialed in. A few functional updates have also been made:

The "My COM Events" page now includes links to the Time Trial results for each event. There is now a link to an "Event Feedback" survey that is currently not functional but can be viewed (nothing is saved if you submit the form). Instructors will also see a "Student Evaluation" link that can be viewed but not saved currently. Also, a "My COM Event Log" section appears at the bottom of the page but is currently empty.

The "My Profile" page now includes COM member status, user account data, and car profile information together -- the "Car Profile" page/link no longer appears.

The Time Trial Archive "results" page now has a drill down link so that you can drill down from the event results grid.

That's about it. Pls let me know if you have specific questions, suggestions or issues. Thx.

Those freakin E30 M3's should be outlawed, or only allowed to run in a vintage class. :D As Mick says: It does seem faster!
