2006 Dates

Post by Crusin » Wed Dec 28, 2005 11:27 am

I am setting up my 2006 schedule and just noticed that any mention of Summit Point has been removed from the COM schedule. Did COM not get a date at either track? :(

Summit Pt date

Post by boltonite » Wed Dec 28, 2005 12:45 pm

At the last board meeting I believe I heard that COMSCC was given a 2-day weekend date (July 15-16) which falls within 2 weeks of the NHIS July 3-4 event. After some debate I believe the decision was to go ahead w/ this event even though it makes it more of a PITA for those organizing the DS and time trial events.

The Shenandoah circuit was available for this date. There MIGHT be a "FATT" (Friday At The Track) event or SCCA test/tune day on the main track July 2nd.

Thanks for the heads-up Fred. Would be great to piggy-back one day at the main track onto the 2-day COM event at Shenandoah.

WGI

I didn't see the WGI on the schedule either. For those not going to Mosport, Patroon BMW CCA runs WGI on 6/12-13.

It's not really a time trial, but just a good time running at WGI.

Being as S/P usually isn't a sell out event for COM, I spoke with my contact at Ferrari down here - they lost a date this year (due to the national convention in May) and they're interested in talking about co-sponsoring/splitting the event. They're game for either 2 or 3 days ... what do you guys think? and ... who should I give the contact info to?

"Splitting" an event has been no end of trouble in the past.
They are, of course, more than welcome to come and play with us,
but in order for the event to stay sane, we need to ask them to please
play by our rules at the event. It's the only way to avoid chaos.
