Getting COM License

Hello my fellow New England racers,

I will be new to COM this year and looking forward in running with the people here. My question is, I have a dedicated 05 Subaru STi track car with weld-in full cage and no passenger seat. Only the driver's seat.

How can I obtain COM license if the instructor is not able to ride along with me inside my car? I do not have SCCA or NASA license but been doing Time Attack and tracks days out in the west coast last year before I moved back here to the New England area few months ago.

Also, do I need to get my car inspected to past the safety and being classed to see what run group I'll be in prior to the events?

Do they have an instructor follow behind me to view my driving? Or, the instructor view it from the pits?

I'm very excited to start my Northeast region of TT here with COM and I look forward in running with you guys.

We and especially the large Subie group look forward to having you with us. The rules require you to have an instructor driving seat. If you have another car with two seats that would be best to get your instructor sign off. Otherwise you may be able to make special arrangements with Carl Fossum the Chief Instructor for a drive/follow.

We are a self classification club. Read the rule book. The forum or the Stewards will help you determine your class if necessary. All cars need to pass tech inspection on the morning of each event. Tech inspection is for safety only, not classification although safety requirements differ by class. Nobody is going to care much on your first event if your class is wrong-- until you start winning!
