Mosport is on!!!
Mosport is on!!!
I was a little nervous that we were going to have to cancel after John's email. But we have enough registered so that it is cheaper to go than cancel. YAHOO!!! Open track here we come!
But we could use a few more cars to reduce the loss to the club.
My personal record is 540 miles at Mosport, anyone think they can beat it? Better bring extra gas cans and tires.
Who got to watch the ALMS race there this weekend? Pick up any tips?
I still can't believe this track doesn't sell out, it is only 50 miles farther than Tremblant and much more challenging, and an easier tow. Plus hotels and food are cheaper there. There is a reason why it is the favorite track of most instructors.

.... looked down from 4 into 5a. Dramatic. Pictures just can't do it justice.

Please. That doesn't even come close to doing it justice.

Mick is right, pictures or video just don't capture the elevation and camber changes. Walk the track if you get a chance, but bring some reading material for the back straight.
Nice comparisson Mick... you got me thinking

Pictures and video can't begin to describe it! In a Miata, the speed going into 5 (Moss corner) is similar to the speed going into 8 (the end of the back straight), at 100+MPH.

No, in 2005, the motor let go just as I got back on the throttle in 2. Rod end came through the top of the block and nicely broke off the EJ20 casting. Fortunately, for everyone else, it happened about 4:55pm so no one (well, other than me!) really lost any track time with the recovery & cleanup.cuda6666 wrote:
What is that? A piece of your transmission case?
Pete & Paddy kindly loaned me their car for the TT the next day (and for a good part of the rest of the season).
