New thread to recap Calabogie notes-Please read

Post by chaos4NH » Thu May 22, 2008 5:21 pm

1. The track will be open for our arrival at 800 pm, Sunday. Please use the back gate. I have been asked to lock the gate when everyone is settled in. While I cannot ignore that request, I can assign someone who is camping there to be available if there are any late (Past 930 pm - my bed time!) arrivals. I will show that person where the key lock box is and give that person the combination to retrieve the key. The person should also be able to unlock the gate in any case requiring emergency exit from the track during the night. Volunteers? If not, it will be "hey, you over there".

2. The track will open at 700 am each day. Track walkers need to be quick, as I imagine our signups and tech will begin around 730 am.

3. As Bill posted, we will arrange lunch delivery from Murphy's Landing (much like the arrangement we had at The Glen).

4. The track has a quiet time from 800 pm until 730 am. Campers must reign in their wild parties.

5. Professional flaggers are provided by the track. I will work with track operations to clearly define when on track incidents will require Black Flag (all cars return to the paddock) or Red Flag (stop off line on course until return to Yellow Flag conditions are noted).

6. Exhaust sound limits. Last year we had one entrant denied track time and at least 2 others that had to make modifications to their exhausts in order to continue participating.

7. There is a noise limit of 104 dB at 3 meters and 92 db at 20 meters. ALL cars are tested in the morning. You will not be allowed on track if you fail. If you pass Lime Rock, chances are you'll pass Calabogie.

8. There is a fluid shed for oil, antifreeze, and brake disposables. Hours of operation will be announced at the drivers meeting.

9. Fuel is available off track only, and there is no source for unleaded race fuel in the immediate area.

See you there at 800 pm, on Sunday!

Thank you Stephan! Sorry you cannot make it.
Speaking of Convoys, anyone traveling up through NH interested in meeting some where around Concord, NH for the drive North?
I plan to leave Merrimack at 730AM and be at the Hooksett rest area around 800. Stopping at Exit 18 on 89 up in Vermont.
I plan to do the "Stephan Shuffle" and go Southwest around Montreal, and pick up RT 40 West out near the airport. I think the connecting road is RT 13, but I will have it locked in on the GPS by tomorrow.

Very Good Sam.
Whne approaching Montreal via Champlain bridge be sure to take the exit that says 20 West towards DORVAL Airport and then head 13 Notrh then 40 West. This way you by-pass route 15 (Decarie Autoroute) which is a cluster at all times.
