NHMS Replacement Dates
NHMS Replacement Dates
NHMS has confirmed that COM is good to go on November 1 and November 2. Although this is back to back with our October 25 & 26 dates at NHMS, it is the consensus of the BOD and club officers that another weekend date should make up for any losses we have incurred from the April 7 & 8 cancellation.

What a beautiful day it is outside today.Sure wish I was at NHMS. I received an email from the BMWCCA that said NHMS was going to plow the track;
"Spring has finally sprung with melting temperatures, NHMS for the first time plowed the track to make sure it is clear and an impressive group of experienced instructors enthusiastically await your arrival."
I guess they are going to help mother nature along.Too bad they didn't do it sooner.

Gosh, we have so many opening days in June, July, August, September and October.
Why so late at NHMS risking yet another possible cold day with chances of snow or ice at that time of year?

Why not?I was wondering that myself.
I will never be able to use my Atom if the track temps aren't 65 degrees or better.
It just does not have enough areo downforce to heat up tires on cold days, and I have tried quite a few different ones.
Maybe it's just to damn light.

Like all clubs, we take what we can get.
There was no choice of dates.
NHIS has some kind of agreement with the town. The track was to be closed before Nov 1. Since the track is opening later than expected this year, it can extend its Fall closing date.
There were no other dates open in the year. This is one of those opportunities where we thank NHMS for providing us with an opportunity for a make-up date!

I think it is amazing the track is booked every day all year.(in season)
What does it cost to rent it for a day?
I am sure it varies on what support items needed (grand stands, parking lots, and other facilities)
What is the minimum?
Just curious...

Some days there are as many as 3 events taking place between on track and parking lot autox and skid schools. Take a ride up there sometime. If they are not getting ready for a NASCAR event (or cleaning up from one) there will be activity! Between NASCAR, SCCA,the various clubs (COM, BMW, Porsche, etc), the Lakes Region Road Racing Series (Motor cycles), the Loudon Classic week, the Go kart series, the driving schools, the Petty Experience, etc, etc, it is a busy place.breakaway500 wrote:I think it is amazing the track is booked every day all year.(in season)

And the pinch on the clubs will get even tighter as the new ownership brings in more big buck venues such as a CART/IRL race and perhaps a couple of support races. Mr Bruton owns 6 premier tracks around the country and doesn't lose money at any of them.
I will leave the question of cost up to someone else to address, as that is not my gig.
