So far, the full 2012 COM schedule includes:
10 days at NHMS
1 test day (Monday) in April
NHMS-1 (2 days)
NHMS-2 (3 days)
NHMS-3 (2 days)
NHMS-4 (2 days)
3 of these are on weekends, one is a holiday monday/Tuesday)
Summit Point (May)
Mosport (July)
Watkins Glen (August)
The return of Summit Point "main" (not Shenandoah) is a HUGE deal to those of us who have been there. AWESOME track!!!!
Great selection guys thank you. Mosport in July should be fantastic!
And WGI in August while (hopefully) kids still on school vacation should be a great time to spend in the Finger lakes region
Yes too bad to Mont Tremblant, but it's their loss too! We always been nice to them...
Somebody teach me the line at Summit! never been there so nice to add another one under my belt!

I'm in the same boat you are...I plan on running a bunch of laps in iRacing prior to heading down to the track (good news is that it's one of the "free" tracks that's included in the initial subscription). Dave and I had success with this approach before going to Mosport for the first time this May.

+1
I learned WGI, Mosport, and LCMT this way (WGI and Mosport were iRacing, LCMT was a less "realistic" but still helpful Ferrari Challenge for PS3) and it helped A TON. Getting out there in the first run group on day 1 and already having an idea on a rough line and corner entry speed was a huge help in picking up the track quickly. I'd recommend this for any new tracks, and even as a refresher for a track you may not have visited in a while.

Here are the dates. These should be 100%, but there is always a possibility of a change or typo. Our WGI event changed by one day last year. Two members (father/son) ended up showing up a day late to our WGI event because they kept the original dates in their calendars and never noticed that they changed (all of the info on our registration site and emails were correct, I believe there was a lingering post on the forums which showed the event starting a day after the actual dates. In any event, these should be correct, but always double-check as the dates get closer!!

I was surprised to see the Glen in August, since the last two events in Sept were well attended. Glad to see it was a typo and it is in Sept.

Gentlemen-
Allow me to be the first to say, this is the best set of dates we've had in a very long time. I don't know who was "running point" this year in getting our dates, or if it was a group effort, but the relationship building we've been doing with the track management(s) looks to be paying off big-time. Or maybe it's just the economy is making them more friendly to us.... I don't care. Congrats all around
Weekends at NHMS, Sunday travel days for the long hauls, getting the big track at Summit (and before it gets hot) and Mosport after snow/mud season is an excellent slate. For those who have not made the away dates, this is a golden opportunity to run the best racks we have available and only spend 3 vacation days to do each one.

NHMS - we will definitely have at least one event on the oval. It is already on the calendar. I'm hoping to run 2.
I vote for 2!

LOL!!
I vote for never driving the south chicane again. First, because SO is so badass. Second, because I won't have to move/rearrange what have become "Troy's Cones".

I remember the first time I pushed the old Cuda through the South Oval, I heard a series of popping sounds. Turned out to be the chassis spot welds all breaking
That's when I got a cage - and rewelded all the seams. I also remember brushing the outside wall coming out of 2 at full throttle in a drift. So, what accounts for the sudden change in track policy?

I miss Tremblant also. Looks like a good schedule. Hope to make a few next year.

I am really really glad that WGI is right after the vintage grand prix as it was this year. I plan on making a big vacation out of this again.
