89 db @ 3,000 rpms, 104 db @ idle?????

So by adding Thrush mufflers out the back of the champcar I got the db meter to stay at 89 db @ 3,000. Then I let the car idle as my wife came out and asked what I was doing. I told her I was going to go ahead and drive the champ car again, even though I told her I wasn't after my mishap at NHIS, and damn if the meter didn't hit 104 db!!!!!!
