It looks like the next best choice (w.r.t. being clean & nice, not inexpensive) is the Best Western in Renfrew Ontario - 237.60 CAD for both days (Ask for corporate rate) + 15% tax. Its a 25 minute ride to the track though.

Sounds like a plan Shawn. Of course things never change over the course of 8 or 9 days! My cell is 493-0007. Stephan - Confirm when you get the jeep/trailer all setup.

Great, I am at the Calabogie Motor Inn on Monday and Tuesday, everything seems filled on Sunday, so I will sleep at the track. Somewhere between the trailer, truck or car I can find a comfortable spot.

Color me missing the ?joke? or ??? Looks like he DNF'ed the first event this year yet had some good lap time of 1:08.68. For qualification he was doing a flying 1:05 (about 1.5 seconds faster than you Bruce, so the boy must be damn good). Dare i ask for more info... and what you know about Mark Nadler?
Look, am very realistic and not expecting to pull out a miracle guys, yet also do not want to be a rolling road hazard either and never claimed to be the next Senna, Schumacher, or Hamilton. Maybe i should just pack it up now and sell the lot?

Apologies for my comments "Maybe i should just pack it up now and sell the lot?" Am really tired due to lack of sleep, jet lag, and 20 hour work days here in Munich. Don't think being in Germany is so exciting when you have a TON of work to do for small pay and all you see is an airport, a taxi, a hotel, a convention center, a taxi (wash, rinse, repeat).
Bottom line, yes my lack of experience in the new car and NEVER said am the most talented guy on the track will mean am slower than guys like Bruce. Am hoping to show improvement over time with the new car as experienced with the tintop.
Well, back to work to almost, kinda, sort pay the bills.

loved to drink... and that was the problem. Am a friend of Bill W's for almost two decades. We'll talk at next track event as not one to post details about that online.
Now if there was a Cafe Do Ponto nearby i'd be soooo there!

Both Mark and Rob are very good drivers. Of course I got to see Rob fly into the puckerbrush in Turn 9 of the May 5 National and when Mark and I qualified mid pack at LRP last year in the rain he said if he saw a hole on the start he was going to go fo it. He charged into that hole approaching Big Bend and it slammed shut. He spun out with two bent front A arms- DNF. A well setup and drive FC is faster than an FE (my class). By the way there is a regular guy at the Glen regional races that does 1:55 in his Formula Continental!! Not bad for a Pinto.
I am just glad to see you are entering your first race.

Many thanks Bruce, am sure i will have 'opening night jitters' and just want to 'do no harm' to others. While we all hope this does not happen, taking myself out is one thing, though t-boning a guy at T3 is not. Am sure other guys with more experience will be more talented and more confident. Frankly, was debating waiting a year in the car before doing an SCCA race, yet may as well dip ye ol' toes int the pool.
Glenn at GTP will be there helping me as a 'safety net' of sorts and to provide tips, help with setup, parts as needed if a corner or two get knocked off, etc. Do not plan to have Glenn at other SCCA events, yet being my first one i felt it made sense plus he lives close to NHIS and that helps keeps my costs down as (and rightly so) Glenn does not work for free. Being my first event, Glenn can help guide me from signing in to... whatever.
Hopefully what you read into all this is that am being cautious and realistic. Perhaps if i was 19 with 10+ years of experience by coming up the proper ranks... yet being 41 let's face it, there is no real potential for becoming a real pro and highly paid driver. Too much excellent and young talent here in Europe to easily fill every available seat for many years to come. Am just hoping one day to be competitive by increasing my understanding of the many facets of the sport from car setup to driving, data analysis, etc.
