WGI Event - pictures
We had a phenomenal event at WGI.
First, congratulations to COM organizers!
Second, I am writing an article on the local chapter of the Alfa magazine so if anyone took pictures of my red machine on the track kindly send to my e-mail and your name will be credited in the article.
stephan.depenasse@segway.com
Third; if anyone saw me being pulled over on 495 approaching route 3 last night at midnight, well, it was me, but, but, but occifer!! come on!
He really reeled me in! he got on my tail, almost in a provoking fashion (road rage officer!) and when I proceed to accelerate to blow him off (unmarked cruiser) he nailed be doing 90 (claimed "estimated") on a 65 zone. Arghhh! to court or not to court... that is the question.
Thank you in advance for the pictures.

I didn't see many myself..averaged 75+ most of the way. Passed Joel on 290, but he passed me right back, I figured he didn't want his GM passed by a Toyota....rajito wrote:Wait wait wait WAIT! Do you even see 90 on the back straight at WGI in the Alfa?

Actually.....
You are kind of right, but I am towing my GM scrap with a Ford product, so I didn't want to to be outdone by the Toyota!

Re: Actually.....
Yuppers, a Ford product came in third in FC class... out of three cars But look at who and what cars were in FC. Lap times of 2:08 in a lil 2L carb'ed Ford at WGI for my very first time in the car when hot shoes super-experienced fastest lap ever at WGI for COMSCC Bruce did 2:02 in a ?2.3L? Mazda-powered car... Frankly, am very pleased with the results.offcamber09 wrote:Seems to me a Ford product got you a 4th place trophy on Tuesday!
So be careful what you say about Ford
Oh, and the new 2008 Ford F-250 Superduty with tiny 5.4L gasser and 3.73 rear ratio manhandled the enclosed rig easily up and down these VERY steep mountain roads to/from WGI. Frankly, am very impressed with Ford as the other Fcar languishes gathering dust here. Anyone wanna buy an Italian Fcar? (Italian accent) She'a for a-sale-a (seriously).

Third place to 2 cars that set class records- one of which that was actually impressive- Great job James.jadams wrote:Thanks again for the ride Scott! I really do appreciate it. So did you end up getting second place, or third?
The sharing of cars, trailers, hot dogs and birthday cake (thanks Dan) are some of the things that make our club great.

seems to me you were just getting out of the way of a police car. I'd take that to court and complain about his taticts.StephanAlfa wrote:He really reeled me in! he got on my tail, almost in a provoking fashion (road rage officer!) and when I proceed to accelerate to blow him off (unmarked cruiser) he nailed be doing 90 (claimed "estimated") on a 65 zone.
