Who is going to NHIS open track day on Thursday?

Post by StephanAlfa » Tue Apr 10, 2007 2:28 pm

I hear Rain and Snow on the forecast.
Greg's comments also very true. Crowd who goes there do not abide to point bys, etc.
Not trying to discourage anyone but if this is a go and there's in enough of us maybe we can make this a safer set of sessions.
Configuration?

Dude, they are expecting 6" of snow in Loudon on Thursday.

Actually, I'm wrong. It's now gone up to 4-8" of snow instead of 3-6". I'm assuming the BMW event on Friday will be canceled as well.

Guys -

My driveway (where it wasn't plowed) still has about 2 or 3 inches of snow from last weeks storm. The yard has about 4 or 5 inches on it - wouldn't be much fun to drive on.

Light flurries today and it is all of about 40 degrees out.

Heavy snow in the forecast. I was planning on going - not no more.

On the safety issue- I ran in 2 of these test days and they weren't scary at all. Barely anyone goes, so there's less chance of hitting another car than a COM event.

The few who i encountered on track are courtious and respectful. Heck most even gave a point by! Most teams are actually testing and it's a really relaxed atmosphere.

The only thing that bugs me is the lack of corner workers. If someone drops some oil or water you are toast - no one is there to throw a debris flag.

Fumes inside my car must be affecting my decision ... or is it that I am itching to decarbonize the cabin fever crust in my pistons ...
Maybe I'll go skiing instead and get some wind in my face.
