Hummm... leaving the Subie crowd to be in mixed company eh? that should be interesting.
Who you think your biggest competitors could be?
Keith? Dan? James?

Stephan, I have some lofty aspirations but none involve a championship as I don't have the money to do all of the events.

I guess that anyone's a threat, I can't say what anyone's done over the winter to their cars or what measures they've taken to hone their skills. But I can say that I am hoping to post lap times that are competitive in Prepared, not just SP...

I should be ready to go with my Champ car. The motor is fixed and the upper front a arms have been changed with new lowers on their way. I also built up the cockpit more next to the sides of my helmet so as to have room for padding so as to support my head during lateral Gs. But if it's under 50 degrees I am not going to risk it. Even with tirewarmers it's too dangerous if it's cold.

The ti has been off the road all winter thanks to the tire wall at lime rock. Im leaving most of the character (dents) in it and it should be back on the road once i get some more parts at the end of this week.
Ive been working on the new spa car but it still has a ways to go before its ready. Most of the suspension is here or on its way but the motor is still a long ways off. Jeff Iafrati and Macaroon Price can breathe easy for a few events.

I need to consolidate my list so here's as good as anywhere.

Still need to:
  • Swap out old Koni Sports and stock springs for JIC coilovers.
    Alignment.
    Install stainless brake lines.
Have adapters fabricated to fit my race seat into the car.
Install new wiring harness for my trailer in the car.
Replace the axle on my trailer.
Order replacement spare tire for the trailer (and possibly order 2 other tires as the trailer has been sitting dormant for over a year).
Not enough weekends left between now and NHIS I fear.

Just got my ANTI-Roll Bar (I got it this time Lee!) today ... Has a "seat brace" wonder if this is any good?.
Forgot to order padding. Any source thoughts?

Yeah, Mark, but now the SSC guys have to contend with you again!

Thats true but I dont think anyone should be too worried about me. I am really excited to see how SSC and the other SS classes are going to shake out with the rule changes. It should be a really fun class to be in.

I'd welcome Mark (and John) in SSC any time. Robert is already in SSC and doing some phenomenal times. I have been "studying this" and I even see he posted record times in some tracks that are better than SSB.
I am truly looking forward to have a competitive SSC class, as competitive as SSB has been for many years in the past.
I must honestly say I had a lot of fun with them and swaping leads during the season, sign of a balanced group. I just want to make sure Carl stays in ST

Hmmmmm, I am not so sure about that! SSB track record at NHIS in October? An a shot at SSB Class Champ but for LRP mishap. SSC should be a large, competitive group this year. I gotta go chase the Saabs in SSA.

stephan thanks for the kind words
ssc should be even more fun than ssb and as long as the alfa stays in the class ssb will still have the coolest car on the track
I wasnt planning on nhis (funds are low due to impending motor rebuild on 930) but may try to sneak in for day 2
roberts times at mosport are insane, he must be hauling some serious mail
sam cant wait to see the new ride, and by the way, mark and I have been known to "heat cycle" a few sets of tires up on I89 (last time I checked this was still a car club and not a knitting group)
due to the revised (read smashed) bodywork on the 318, lap times should plummet (car now thinks its a real racecar), should we still run in showroom stock?
Should be a great year cant wait
see you at the track

Hey John:
Not my fault they dropped me to SSC. Are you saying I should stay in SSB even with newer cars/better displacement? Hummm... did not think of that. I'll be going against new Miatas, new Honda Civic, Ford Focus SVT and the like. You got me thinking here. This could be interesting.
