Stephan,
As a heads up, and sorry for OT discussion, my brake technicians at Girodisc now offer a kit for the Alfa http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showth ... p?t=141955 . They also have brake systems for Nissan Z and others too. Their head designer was with Brembo for many years and now does stuff independent and also for various top dollar race teams. Use their stuff on my fcar. They REALLY know their stuff! Just trying to help and apologies for the O.T.
Like you, still waiting for open registration for WGI.

You can make both.
Sounds like I may have a travel companion I am planning to do both.

Re: WGI Event Application
You are right, though driving April 22 from NHIS to WGI and change the car's setup and gears for COMSCC April 23/24 at WGI would be a bear for me. Except for NHIS because it is an hour away from my home, usually like to arrive at events the night before and get a good night sleep with the car fully prepared for the event. As a newbie, it would be a HUGE dive into the fast and furious (NO pun intended) to attempt both events. Since this would also be my first SCCA event and i have no other techs/team members it would be that much more difficult as a newbie.brucesallen wrote:You can make both.enjoythemusic wrote: Blowing off SCCA NHIS opener for COMSCC WGI event
Bruce, color me wishing to have the experience and talent you have earned over the years, yet as a newbie safe is a good thing. Rather take my time and better acquaint myself to the new rules/regs and other bits on the car than do a rush job and find myself going 140mph down the back straight of WGI and...
Again, am sure both events can be done, yet the Formula Continental would need to be changed from NHIS setup to WGI setup within hours plus the 6 hours haul plus loading and unloading of equipment. In the Ferrari it would be 'easy' as the car is a known and have a decent amount of time with tuning her (plus no aero or gear changes to deal with), the Formula Continental is too new to me to try and rush things. Call it lack of experience combined with better to be safe than sorry on my part with a new (to me), more time consuming track car.
Of course if you know of a way (some help perhaps) that makes me feel more comfortable with making the needed gear/setup/aero package changes in a safe manner i am all ears. Glenn at GTP will be away at a race supporting the pro guys, so that is out of the picture plus the added expense of getting an experienced professional helping with setup will hurt my hopes of trying to keep some costs down.
Bruce, again, color me wishing to have the experience and knowledge you have earned over the years. Am sure your many years of hard work and understanding of your car pays dividends in making it the best she can be given the conditions at hand. At some point i will be asking for your guidance/help and look forward to learning from an expert.

Buy a spec car like mine. No gear changes and fewer suspension changes.enjoythemusic wrote:Of course if you know of a way (some help perhaps) that makes me feel more comfortable with making the needed gear/setup/aero package changes in a safe manner i am all ears.brucesallen wrote:You can make both.enjoythemusic wrote: Blowing off SCCA NHIS opener for COMSCC WGI event
I guess you are wise. But will you be going through SCCA school? You must have a crew.
