3/4 Busch Race

Post by Don P » Sat Mar 03, 2007 1:02 pm

Tomorrow the Busch cars compete on a road course in Mexico - ESPN. If you haven't seen this race b4 and have some time it is one of the most entertaining races of the season.

Best,

Not usually a NASCAR guy though do enjoy seeing their road racing sessions/races. JPM did great during practice and was around a second better than the others. Alas, during qual he has a tire lockup and was about 0.4 behind the pole winner. That put him third on the grid for today's race. The pole winner is also a LeMans driver who took part in the race yesterday on the same track, so the guy who took pole was not a NASCAR guy per se. All in all it should be a great race, coverage begins at 1:30pm today (Sunday) on TV.

I think last year at WGI was one of the best NASCAR road races with Robby Gordon and Kurt Busch taking the off road  line in the kink and swapping paint!

Not the way I'd like to see JPM win. He was going to get past Pruitt either way. No need for that. He should have been more patient.

Sort of like Ray Blethen taking out the competition in the (old Bryar) turn 8 in the October 1987 COM Silver Bullet finale! That was supposed to be a no contact event, even!

That was a total hack move of JPM, I was chearing for him up until that point. After that I was hoping Denny was going to get by him at the end. Denny had a much better drive last year when he won. If JPM hacks like that around guys like Stewart or Harvick, Chip will be scrapping many of his cars this year.

Ricky Bobby, I'll break you arm if you don't say "I like buritos"

Agreed. Was rooting for him up until THAT point, as we all know Pruitt would have let him pass the next lap or so. Agree with Pruitt, that was one of the nastiest team driver events i have seen... but in the heat of battle...
