2007 NHIS #1: 4/9-10 Calling all cornerworkers!

Post by deimos » Wed Feb 28, 2007 11:27 pm

COMSCC needs corner workers for all day at NHIS on 4/9 and 4/10. We'll pay you $100/day. If you have no experience, that's fine, we'll train you too.

New for 2007 is the control position as a paid position. This is just like being a corner worker, except you are in charge of everything on track. If you have experience at Control, please tell me. As of right now, NHIS has a few recommendations for the position, I'm waiting to hear back from these people.

Prepare for standing out in the elements from 9 am till noon, and 1pm till 5 pm. You will get priority in the restaurant, if you don't bring your own lunch. Radios, helmets, and flags are provided.

If you're interested, email me: operations at comscc.com with the dates you are available, corner preference, and if you have experience. If you know of others, feel free to include them in your email to me. Thanks!

The COMSCC Banquet is a mere $25 per person.

I'll be keeping the corners updated so everyone can see what's open.

UPDATE 3/14/07: If you are interested in working a corner, please email me. I'll provide you details on the person managing control for this event. Thanks!

Curious, I last year I read that NHIS was going to require workers wear helmets while working.

Good reading here...

Curious, I last year I read that NHIS was going to require workers wear helmets while working.

And they did wear helmets .. everyone flagging plus all those in the pit road area even if they had to go to the wall and retrieve their transponders. No exceptions.

So what is the question? Wearing again this year? you bet.
Type of helmet? well, I read the link ou send and I share your laughs too, but the point is compliance.
Wonder what Raj wouild wear for a hemlet so it wont mess up his new hairdo ...

Sorry, my comment was primarily intended for those who do not have previous experience. As a heads up that a helmet might be needed.

I know if I intend on working a corner that I intend on wearing a helmet.

COM supplies helmets. If we run out of helmets, the track has more.
