The car is almost prepped, we'll be cracking open the tranny and changing the gears for NHIS C/C config plus the usual wing and suspension adjustments. As with the very green track, they probably do not want us doing the really fastn' fun stuff.
Am really looking forward to WGI. Going to blow off SCCA opener for it

Drivers being equal I think I'd put my money on the SVT Focus

Who drives an SVT Focus??? That should be interesting...
I will really miss the SSB class. Been racing there since 2000, very competitive.
I think I will run SSC this year while the car is still fully stock and wife may want to drinve on away track and in 2008 I will get this car up to ST-4 (I miss racing against ) ... or maybe even SPC and give Mike, Chris, and Mark a bit of "Alfa" heat . Maybe by then the new model Alfas will be back in the US and that will bring me back to SSB class with something a bit more challenging.

I am seen some nut guys fot a 5 litre Mustang engine into an Alfa GTV.
The Guy is from Toronto but these pctures are actually at the Alfa COnvention in Manchester taken in 2004: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2212996
Notice the details including sidepipes and he went to some extreme to put Alfa logos on top of the Ford engine (sorry Pony lovers but you deserved the credit...)
During the Time Trials for the ALfa COnvention (grealty assisted by some people BTW) He coulsd not run becasue he need a roll cage (in the case of Lee, it should be properly labelled as "anti-roll bar" )
The car was super nice, presentable and fast.

Sorry Jonathan, I was just kidding. I went the other way. Car stripped to the tub this winter at Turner and they're really going nutty. I'm at NHIS just for testing the new suspension to prepare for a club race at VIR 4 days later.
I'm excited to go back to Watkins Glen. After bitching to Alex about dropping the event last year, I figured I'd better show up and support the away events. WGI will be the big test after sorting out. I project to see sub 2:00 laps. Sometimes having data aquisition info is humbling. The computer said I was being a baby last year at Lime Rock and I should run a :56, so I did. The problem is it says I should run a 1:52 at the Glen. I don't know if I have those kind of balls...
Looking forward to getting out of the cabin fever bench racing season and getting back on track with some friends.

I guess when we think you hotrod can't get much badder, you prove us wrong. VIR should be quite a good speed test, their back straight has to be one of the longest in the country. I can't make the wgi with com this year, it happens to fall on family vacation week. I have not signed up for nhis 1, my shop doesn't have good heat and I we have a cold march, I don't feel like freezing getting the car ready. Good luck with every thing Greg, and can't wait to see yout times.Car stripped to the tub this winter at Turner and they're really going nutty.

my car is almost ready. I have some work to do still- I need tires. That's the big expense.
Stuff I didn't have last year that I have now-
Roll cage
Race buckets and harnesses/safety stuff
Big brakes
Big turbo
New suspension bushings/overhaul
mo' powa.
Entering SPB from STGT for the first time.
