For a corvette club, you guys don't know much about vettes.chaos4NH wrote:You did notice he was running drag tires (semi slicks I take it) right?
Hey, with stock Audi S4's running low 13s on street tires, I suppose a 505HP ZO6 can run high 11s.
That's a 405 horse C5 Z06. Corvettes are grouped into C1,C2,C3,C4,C5 and C6.
C6 are the newest models.

turtlevette, sounds like you are impressed with the numbers. What does a stock late-model C5 Z06 turn in the 1/4 mile?
Looks like all the fast SSU guys just got lucky and just got good ones.

When the 385hp Z06 came out in 01, I remember watching Ric Nelson (Powershifter) running 11's on drag radials right after he got the car. When he traded it on an 02 405 HP, he immediately brought it up to new England Dragway and did the same thing. Some of these guys have been drag racing since the 60's and go several times a week. They are always going to beat some once a month guy or some magazine tester who had the car for a day in 100* CA heat.
