NHIS flooding

Post by stumpz » Mon Oct 10, 2005 6:51 am

Pic credits go to Jim Ferreira he posted them to the SCCNH mailing list.
I've moved them to my server to save his band-width. Jim I hope this is ok Please let me know and I'll remove them if it is not.

It rained so hard looks like the water didn't go anywhere. Also the tunnel is flooded and apparently 6 is under water as well.

Some pics show the south garages submerged at about 3/4ths.

NOTE: pics are big so 56k dail-up users, you've been warned.

Suresh

PS. Please dry out for OCT COM event
PPS. We subaru guys like rain, but not this much.

Seems hard to believe there's water in 6 - the elevation is quite a bit above the main track - it is called 'the bowl' though!

I don't doubt that the track will be dry by the COM event in two weeks - it's just whether the rest of the facility will be able to support it - the water had to do damage to the garages, restrooms, restaurant, etc.

Stumpz and I were talking about rain tires the other day - but this is a bit ridiculous!

Maybe we will need old VW Bugs they were noted for being able to float \:D/  We could than mount an outboard on the bumper and do both the flooded part and the dry part. What class is an Old VW Bug with an outboard ?

NHIS-3 status

Lifted this from the WKA forum, the karts have an event there this weekend:

ok here is the official word.
The damn up the street broke and flooded parts of the track. As soon as the damn was repaired the track drained itself out. There for the track is dry and we will be racing. The only problem is the camping section didn't drain so good so there might not be power in that area. BUT WE WILL BE RACING.

So I'd guess it looks good for us the following weekend, keep your fingers crossed...

Formula Vee?

I think I'd drown if I drove through that water now.

Anyone know the status of the track? Is it still flooded?

Track is in good shape, it was open yesterday. My boss went up there for testing, and the track was dry.

I'm not signed up for the event, but I have an errand to run in NH and might swing by the track to socialize and reduce my toxic waste inventory. Does anyone know if the fluid-disposal shed will be open?

Christine
