Thanks to all those in Run Group 1 on saturday!

Post by fact5racer » Sat Oct 21, 2006 10:28 pm

I just wanted to say Thank You to all the fellow drivers in Run Group 1 on Saturday and my apology for causing the 2nd run to stop while they pulled me and my Indycar off the track. That afternoon we found that the culprit was that the drive gear on the distributor sheared off it's retaining pin with the result being a complete loss of spark. Luckily the gear did not drop down into the motor until we started to remove the distributor so chances are we just need to drop the pan to get the gear out of there and then replace the distributor. But the big thanks goes out to all you drivers that graciously gave me point bys and space while out there. This car has been a life long dream of mine and it was well worth the wait, the time, and the money! I tried to be as non-intimidating as possible out there and want again, to say thanks for "welcoming me back" from basically 14 months of non-running. God I can't wait till Trembant next year! I figured it was mechanical, I was wondering why you were sitting just on the outside up there.

Glad it wasn't too serious :)

Gary-- It was fun to watch you roar by me  I felt like I was at Indy. I hope you will be at Line Rock.

Sorry, but I had already booked flights to be in Vegas that weekend for the endurocross at the Orleans with my crew. But I am planning a full season with it next year.
