Rush car turn signals

Post by rush rentals » Sat Sep 20, 2025 6:59 pm

At the Palmer event our renter in the rush car seamed to have a point bye problem.
In the rush cars wearing arm restraints the car wanting a point bye has a very hard time seeing them from the drivers of a Rush car.
Our renter was having a bit of a problem grasping the concept of how to give them in a Rush car.
As the car owner my apologies to all that there was a problem with this.

I'm now going to install some LED light in the rear with push and hold switches for turn signals. with a push and hold switch the Rush driver can't forget that the blinker is on.
With a blinker for a turn signal the problem with that is how do you determine how many cars are being pointed bye?

Lights could help for sure, and having them be momentary would help avoid one of the situations that happened with the yellow car using turn signals.
Point buys are considered 'open' while the lights are on.

I got all the parts on order to do 6" amber LED blinker light for the rear of the Rush cars.
I'm trying to make this as idiot proof as possible using push and hold momentary switches.
with the flasher relay there is a momentary delay from when your pushing the switch to when the blinker starts to flash.
would a solid amber light be a better way to go ? or would this just confuse the drivers looking for a point bye?

Again I'm trying to make this as idiot proof as possible but when we have a renter getting towed in after stalling the car on track saying he couldn't restart the car because he was pushing the wrong button to over ride the neutral safety .
on the Rush cars there are two red buttons one on the steering wheel that's labeled Push to Talk and one on the dash that's labeled Push to Start.
guess what button the renter was pushing.

I think solid would be confusing--go with flashing for sure. I'd be fan of https://www.unityparts.com/2-1000-2106- ... ow-2-wire/ this style :-)
