Camping at Limerock event

Post by jeffreystrong » Mon Oct 09, 2006 7:17 pm

Will there be camping available at Limerock?

If not, can someone recommend a place nearby that I might be able to park the RV for the night?

Hey Dan, is the LRP web site a bit out of date? There are marked RV parking areas on the map and , acording to the Track Hours page, this is stated:

Camping Hours
Begin at 6pm on the day before
an event and end at 7pm on the last day of an event.

There appear to be gas pumps on track, is this accurate? :?:
Not sure what to believe, but you guys know best, it seems.

Thanks.

I believe the web site refers to events open to the public which charge addmission.

COMSCC does not pay the additional $600 for all night security personnel. So that is why there is no camping at Lime Rock Park for us.

As far as pumps, they have 'em at the track if you don't mind spending $5/gal for 93.

In 2001 they were out of 100 octane. I'll be calling in advance....

with alcohol

Their 100 octane unleaded has alcohol! Yuch. Causes indeterminate amount of lean burn. Especially with a race computer that has no oxygen sensor. I guess that is so it can be street legal where methanol is mandated now. VP fuel unleaded solves the problem.

Someone just registered for Lime Rock with a 2004 Ferrari Enzo - I wonder what it requires for fuel.

Does he have to get it imported from Italy?

Don't go getting all hot and bothered. It was me that registered a non-existent Ferrari Enzo. You see the registration Web page requires you to list a car even though you say you are only going to instruct and not drive!

Bruce is just joking. That's me and my Enzo, and yes, I'll be letting people take it for some hot laps.
It's kinda' fun.

Bruce,

The Enzo engine, along with a couple of other newer Ferraris, requires the use of a a very unusual 10w60 synthetic engine oil. If you ever need any engine oil, let me know, we stock it at work. Make sure you use the right stuff.

We also carry wheel spacers for the Enzo if you need them. Those take us a bit more time to get, but I can have them in plenty of time for Lime Rock.
