I think some prospective members are turned off by the class rules when all they want to do is get the feel of a track day. Once we have them hooked and they want to run the TT's then they'd have to comply with our car class specs.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. Basically we're 'run what ya brung' so why or how would a prospective member be "turned off" by the car classing? I could use a real world example of what you're talking about.

My first student day was pretty straight forward. I did have to ask for clarification about the modifications to my car, but I don't see where the answer might have caused concern.

Not trying to be confrontational, just curious.

As for me, it's the people and the excitement of legally going fast.

I think Keith's point is that some of the newer students have cars that are modded to the point where they would be required to wear a suit and/or cage their car...

These drivers can run an HPDE with the BMW club without these safety modifications but cannot run with COM as they are classed in a Prepared class...

If the classing rules doesn't apply on the school day, these drivers can experience COM and everything it has to offer before they spend the cash on the required safety mods.
