Rant!
Saturday I came up behind a Mini Cooper,in a passing zone.(Whiskey Hill instructor day) The car was on the far left side of the track.I anticipated a point by to the right..but instead..they put their RIGHT directional on! Now what do I do? Are they going to move to the right? Am I suppose to pass on the right? Should I just bump them? No, I slowed down. After a brief exchange of HAND jestures..they moved to the right. Wow. One club says the passing car should pass on the side of the directional....another club says the directional signals where the car being passed is going to be. VERY confusing, and dangerous. For the record, Whiskey Hill uses finger point bys for passing during their schools. I guess this instructor didn't get the memo..
This is why pointing by with your finger should be the ONLY accepted method to acknowledge a pass. Period. Simple. One universal method, understood by everyone. Even a baboon could figure it out. Anything else is just adding to unnecessary confusion. I was told that some people have a hard time learning how to use their hands/finger to signal point bys. Really..???? If "some people" cannot learn to point by, with their finger, then they should take up a different sport..maybe golf.
Pretty cool that someone got a photo of it..
Rant off...

i totally agree !
for the last few years i have been instructing with a number of different clubs from time to time you get other instructors using there turn indicators as there finger to point you bye . it really pisses me off when they do this . there is one club that pushes the use of them instead of your finger . there has to be set standard and not a club by club ruling for point byes .
