NASCAR at NHMS

NHMS has lost the September race starting in 2018.

Wonder what track will get that date. Watkins Glen would be nice. They don't call NHMS the "mediocre mile" for nothing.. :lol:

Maybe this will inspire NHMS to build the road race track they have talked about for so long..

I feel bad for the wonderful staff up there. Maybe this loss to economy up there might help the town + track come to an agreement on making the July race a night race and upgrade the track accordingling.

I don't see how they can raise their rates too much,or people will just stop going altogether. Being cheap is what has worked for them. Lots of interesting tracks in this area..so they need to do something positive to keep or attract events that draw crowds. Losing that fall Nascar race is surely going to hurt their financials.

Is repaving at all on their radar? I suppose the lack of NASCAR money won't help. Last year I thought the pavement in the North chicane was especially bad, much worse than I remembered.
