Watkins Glen caravaan SATURDAY

Post by dinoracer » Tue Sep 06, 2016 2:57 pm

Leaving SATURDAY

Scott Rosnick and I will be meeting at the Charlton rest area at 10 AM for the trip so from there it's a little over 5 hours. However, we both have spouses aboard, so it'll be a bit more lesiurely, figure making it to WG about 4:30.

Planning on dropping trailer at the top of the hill, we have a house rented nearby but not sure about parking trailers there.

We'll be enjoying the vintage racing on Sunday, then moving in Monday at o-dark thirty.

Post here if you'd like to meet.

Tori and I are planning a slow tow to Sayre, PA on Friday. Planning on staying there the whole weekend, to watch the SVRA races and be ready to go on Monday morning. This spot to drop off our trailers sounds good. I considered paying for camping for the weekend, so i didn't have to leave my trailer in Sayre.

Ether way we should be able to get into the garages later on Sunday evening if we leave them on the hill?

Com drivers are going to kick-but on the new Glen pavement! Are any TT records at stake?

Hi Aric

The Glen Management has made it clear that there will be no entrance granted to COM participants Sunday night inside the facility, including the garages. They are offering the space at the top of the hill, across from the ticket office, for us to park trailers on Saturday and Sunday as a courtesy.

The vintage racers "own" the track thru Sunday night, and it takes them a while to clear out - there may be some wine and beer involved there that slows them down.....

We are opening the gate at 6AM Monday, and will have registration open at 7AM or earlier at the garage.
