well I am only on the 3G plan. Hard to believe they would give this to me but I may try.

according to the ATT web site to include Canada you need the $60/mo plan:

and even if you do not care about that you need at least the $45 plan to qualify for family discount which is only incrementally better for each phone you add.

For me the GoPhone deal is not obviously cheaper if you have a lot of phones in your family.

Yes, I have the $60/mo Go Phone plan that costs $55/mo if you enable auto-pay.
AND, I tricked them into covering the US too
