Canaan New Section

Post by hroundy » Mon Oct 26, 2015 7:11 pm

I was at Canaan today and took a video of the reconfigured track. The new section was paved last week. The banked turn from the old oval is gone has been changed to a banked dog leg right followed by a new straight. There is a new banked 180 right followed by a 180 left to get out of this new section which has a significant camber change similar to turn 5 at Thompson. They will be back filling and landscaping in the next several days. It seems to be 1.3 to 1.4 miles long.

There is a lot of dirt on the track today. Dave was in the process of sweeping it when I arrived. Yesterday there was an X-Games test and they made a mess of the place. Here is the video, I was going at very moderate speeds.

This actually looks pretty cool. When i had seen the initial pictures of this track and heard about it, it seemed pretty lame. It has come along though.
Where is it NH?

Steve, the track in its prior config was actually very fun, video's and pictures didn't do it justice. Thanks for the video Howard, I look forward to going back next year

The track is in Canaan NH about 20 east of Lebanon ( where I89 crosses into VT). Should be an easy trip for you north on I91 then south east on I89. Here is a map:
