Mosport 9/4 TCMC?

Post by Mick » Wed Aug 23, 2006 8:18 pm

I was looking at the Mosport schedule and they have TCMC listed for 9/4 (Monday before our event) Out of curiosity I did a little digging to see who they are. Turns out that TCMC = Toronto Chinese Motorsport Club.

From what I could find on the web, they are a drifting club. Can anyone confirm this? If it's true I'm gonna try and get there early, this could be entertaining.

Quote from another forum.
TCMC is known for running lapping days where helmets are optional, drivers often stop mid-corner so their girlfriends can snap some pics and the biggest mind f***er of all - having a passenger stand up through the sunroof to shoot pics of the chase car.
It sounds too outrageous to be true. No track would ever let them do that, would they?

it's 2 groups (alternating 30 min on/off)...

Kensai Racing (they run a grand am cup car) for novices and a friend of mine who runs the other, 'open' group.

I've been doing his events for many years and will be there on Monday

PS they're not 'all' crazee chinese

If you want to see real racing, ALMS runs Sunday afternoon. I am thinking about heading up Saturday so I can see the big boys run. TDI ftw!

Oh yeah, helmets are NOT optional and there is attention paid to safety along with drivers meetings, signals to pass, passing zones as with most other clubs

also, the car overtaking must do so on the side of the next corner's apex

Something like that would have been welcome at MT, say between #5 - 6 and 6 -7, where I noticed it got confusing.

They also use blue flags
