I use it and like it. I have only used the phone's GPS so far. You can use an external GPS for more detailed location information and it will connect to ODB for details about the car(throttle, brakes, gear, etc). It stores all the lap data for your review after the session. Has some interesting graphs, I like the lateral-g graph to see if I am pushing enough in the corners. It produces decent videos with overlays of the GPS, accelerometer and ODB information. Here is one of my videos from a Motorola G Android:
phpBB [video]

The ODB info is put at the lower right of the picture.

My complaint is that it stores all the data in the sequence it was collected. The last lap is at the very bottom, if you have a lot in the system its a pain to get to. I would like to see a better method to manage the data. Maybe I haven't learned how to use all its features yet.

If you have nothing it is great and the price is right ($20 from the app store).

thanks for the reply !
we use a much more advanced D.A.S. for the IMSA car and totally different .
so when I was chatting with the rep from Harry's and was saying how it would be great if there was a low cost system like we use for the IMSA races but for grassroots racing and track days.
he told me to give this grand prix app a try and to give him some feed back on it .
he said it's not near as advanced as what I'm used to but it's allot better then the GPS lap timer I have been using for track days only gives me lap times and is not linked into my GO PRO .
when I go to the track this weekend I will see how I like it .
I will tell him what you said about retrieving data from it .
what addition do you use ? they have 4 the buddy , rookie , petrolhead and grand prix .

I will see how I like it this sunday.
the car I'm using this weekend has OBD1 so most of what the GP app can do is useless with the Miata .
I'm not a techie person at all so I will see how easy it is to use .
my last GPS lap timer had no track list in it so you had to walk over to the start finish line and press and hold the set button . it also had no track map it was just a timer .

I'm looking into this app too. It does get pretty advanced. You can add obd2 input, video input, gps input, all wireless through a bluetooth connection. I'm planning to buy the app now, the full blown app $27and use my droid this weekend. Next year I'll add a go pro.and see how the droid gps works.

Anyone else with experience doing all this?

I'm way to cheap to buy a holder so I made one instead . the good thing about the one I made is it will never fall off the dash .
the photos are to big to post it here but if you go on my david boutelle / DKB face book page you can see it .
it took me about 20 to 30 minutes to make out of scrap aluminum at a cost of nothing .
