Re: Canaan Speedway
I was at Canaan yesterday with SCCNH. They ran an autocross using most of the track including the two go kart crossovers. I found the track a bit slippery but fun. The turn from the old oval (still the old pavement) had better grip and was a lot of fun even though I not a big fan of 180s.
They have a local restaurant providing food at the track in the morning and at lunch. The morning was an assortment of muffins and breakfast sandwiches. The lunch was sandwiches (beef, turkey or ham) on a bulky with cheese for $5.50. These were very good. They also had chips, drinks, cookies and other snacks. I didn't price the breakfast items but a good lunch can be had for about $10. The young lady running this was very open to suggestion and obviously wants to make this a success.
There is no-name gas and a Citco station in the town, which is quite close to the track.
Like Palmer, supporting the locals will help this facility survive.
They have started the expansion to the track. When we get there this Saturday, I would expect that most of the gravel layer will be down. They expect to cut into the old oval turn in early October and pave soon thereafter. There is a new oval type 180 turn in this new section with similar banking to the one that will be cut up. Therer will be a 1.4 mile track ready for use by Spring.

Re: Canaan Speedway
And I understand the card maker is Broken but why did we not receive our hard cards mid-season this year, like we have for the past 3 years?
We didn't re-new membership by the t-shirt dead line, but why didn't either of us get our annual COM mailing with our decals and hard cards when they were mailed out to everyone?
I'm not trying to be a pain, but the event e-mails often contain important information. Especially this last one about Cannan.
Please fix your data base so we get the e-mails and snail mails.
Let me know If you need our address

Re: Canaan Speedway
Sounds like your ISP (yahoo) is eating your email. Do you get confirmations from MSR when you register?
It might help for you to add autopilot@motorsportreg.com to your address book.
have you checked your spam folder?
I just sent a test message from MSR's email system to you.
