Competitors, before we get started with the updates, we need to get a couple straight:
1) If you were content with missing NHMS-2 because: "it wasn't so bad...at least I just missed a rainy day at New Hampshire anyway" - you're doing it wrong. See below for what you missed.
2) Thompson (Friday/Saturday, July 17/18) is a must-go event. There will be 4 participation points on the line (1st place winner receives 13 total points) so the Thompson event will be a big opportunity to extend your lead or get back in the game. Planning on missing this one? Plan on missing out on a class championship - it's as simple as that. Sign-up now at Motorsportreg: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/th ... ZEosPlVhBc
On to NHMS-2. After lots of track time to work on the South Oval on day 1, just about everyone at the event "leveled-up" as a rain driver on day 2. For obvious safety reasons, we switched to Chicane/Chicane configuration when the rain rolled through. Heavy overnight, the rain tapered off in the morning, but a steady, light rain kept a dry line from forming throughout the TT. You can bet that competitors who stuck it out on Sunday will be a bit more confident and capable next time mother nature mixes things up.
T30 - after returning "home" to NHMS, Stephen Hosker (1st) edged out long-time T30 competitor Peter Perrault (2nd). Hosker has now taken an early lead in the standings, 1 point ahead of Perrault, and 2 points ahead of Mikhael El-Bayeh.
T40 - Sam Webster (1st) stole the show while Derek Tangard (DNShow-up) slept through his alarm. Feeling confident in the rain with his FF platform Nissan and wet tires, Sam showed a swagger not seen in years as he picked up the win in one of COMSCC's tightest classes. Matthew Daniels (2nd) returns to COMSCC Time Trials this year and made an impressive showing, edging out T40 class leader Scott Rosnick (3rd). The entire rest of the field spun out and got DQ'd - do not forget: you need to finish to win.
T50 - Years ago, Dave Lemoine (1st) learned how to drive in the rain on v710s (think about that for a second...). He dropped a couple screaming laps for the win, chipping into Jeff Wasilko's (2nd) lead in the season standings and moving ahead of Dave Wittmer (DNShow-up) who was probably nice and warm by a fire or something. Troy Velazquez (3rd) rocked street tires all the way to the podium.
T60 - Victor Laren (1st) picked up his 2nd straight win in 2 different cars, moving him to the top of T60 in the season standings (ahead of Heath Speckman and Roe Cole, both missing in action). Howard Roundy (2nd) has improved his result at each event, now in 2nd place on the season. Classroom instructor Stephan de Penasse (3rd) put theory into practice to round out the podium despite the lack of a decent rain tire. Emilio Arce, we all would have liked to see how a guy with rally experience takes on the rain...
T70 - After a strong collective display of driving talent, a 3-way race is emerging in T70. Jon Cowen (1st) moved into 2nd place on the season, going faster than anyone else not running the Hooser H2O's. Behind him was Norbert Martel (2nd) whose 3 laps were within 0.032s, obviously most consistent at the event and possibly one of the tightest spreads ever seen in a COMSCC TT. Stephen Tise Jr. (3rd) was pushing hard and hangs on to his T70 class lead.
T80 - Nick Fontana (1st) ran a couple 1:22's, good enough for FTD by over a second ahead of the T100 Godzilla. Jon Harris (2nd) jumped 3 places in the standings and is now in 2nd in T80 for the season.
T90 - Laura Fleming (1st) drove like a girl, again, for her 3rd straight win in 2015. Guys, take notice before Laura wraps up the class in dominating fashion. David Reddington (2nd) jumped 5 places to grab the 2nd place spot in the T90 standings. Bob Brooks, you were missed.
T100 - Bob Cairns (2nd) hung it out there, but it wasn't enough to chase down your T100 class leader Donald Piette (1st) who was melting the rain away with a 1:23 in his GT-R. A quick correction on the Cairns-Fleming American Iron duel - Fleming has the points lead for the official award, but the "score" is Cairns (2) - Fleming (1). Look for the addition of go-fast parts and removal of sandbags at the next event.
Super D - Greg Hosselbarth (1st) must have scared everyone away, but he put down some impressive laps anyway for his 3rd straight Super D win this year. Mark Swinehart, did you forget to register?
Super C - "Stiff competition" is putting it lightly - fearless in the rain, Peter Fontana (1st) earned his first win since running in the old SSGT class, and he got a well-earned handshake from Timing & Scoring after his TT. Gordon Andrade (2nd) hangs on to his lead in the Super C season standings, just 2 points over Will Martins (3rd).
Super B - John French (1st) and Daniel Preston (2nd) hung around to battle in the rain, and it paid off for French who now holds the class lead for the season.
Super A - Dana Johnston (1st) opted not to go swimming in an an open cockpit and rolled out the back-up Subaru. Both he and Tom Greer (2nd) moved up to 1st and 2nd in the season standings, respectively, just ahead of Charles "Butch" King and Michael Jacques.
Super Unlimited - nothing super about an empty class...

Hi Nick,
Great update as always!
I was attending a family wedding at the cape this weekend otherwise i would have been at NH2.
See you at Thompson as the COM BBQ will also be in operation.

Bummer, sounds like a lot of fun and track time. I was in Antigua learning kite boarding. I survived with all my limbs intact so I should be able to attend Thompson
