Make the trip to a fantastic track with high speed sweepers, friendly staff, and LOTS OF TRACK TIME! Enjoy the last gasps of summer at a lovely motorsports park in the Ontario wilderness.

Mosport is my favorite track for three reasons:

1) Turn 2: high speed, off camber, blind apex, and drifting
2) Turn 4: high speed, off camber, mmm....drifting
3) The back straight: how fast can you go? how fast can you come out of 5b to see a 15 mph increase in speed for turn 8?

I'll repost the favorite video"4 wheel drift required" of Mosport for your viewing pleasure. Yes, it requires Quicktime. In my defense, I made it for my non-racing oriented in-laws. :)

You want pictures!? How about a hundred pictures of subaru on track? Not into Asian cars? Ok, how about pictures of German power on track? Yes, that's right, I took a Barcalounger on track and still had tires and brakes left after 2 days of open track.

C'mon down! With the 80+ people we had last time, there was still plenty of track for all, including the Porsche Cup team!

Is it a longer drive than Mt Tremblant, or is it closer?

From Concord, NH it is a longer time - but the drive is easy. A good chunk of time (about 140 miles) is on Canada's Highway 401.

I believe from Concord to Bowmanville takes me just over 8 hours of actual driving time. It is about 9 hours with stops.

Yes, it is further than Mont Tremblant but if you are looking for actual track time there is no comparison to Mosport.

Bring lots of fuel, extra tires and be sure to check your brake pads.

Oh great! Now everybody is going to find out about the best kept secret in COM. 2 years ago I put down 540 miles at Mosport. This year at Mosport 1 I only got in 440. What is not to love about track time like that on a circuit as thrilling as Mosport? There is a good reason why it is the favorite track of many COMers. It is only a little farther than Tremblant and food and lodging is much cheaper.

Bring extra gas jugs and tires, we're going to need it!

From the Boston area, Mosport is about the same distance as Summit, both of which are a slightly longer haul than Tremblant. As Mark said, the tow/drive is very easy. There's no worrying about the mountains or Montreal traffic.

Mosport is the real deal. A former F1 track with challenging turns, long straights, and several "pucker-factor-ten" corners. We get an amazing amount of track time here, and I wouldn't be surprised if we have open track on both days, save the time allowed for time trials.

Gordon, I'm thinking we can easily topple that 540 track-mile record. ;) :)

Beautiful track

In addition to the challenging high speed corners including some off camber and some blind and the super-long back straight I like the track because of its beauty. The infield is hundreds of acres of green rolling hills. You can drive around in the infield and see lots of the track.

You can camp way away from the COM crowd in the infield under some trees or in the paddock where you can steal some electricity if you bring an extension cord long enough to get by Mark E.'s ark.

I made my first trip to Mosport in June and cannot wait to get back. I rate Mt Tremblant and Mosport as my 1 and 1A tracks - true natural road course that challenge you in ways that NHIS cannot.

In the June event I had more track time than I could handle.

This event is well worth the tow. In some ways it is an easier tow than Mt Tremblant as there are fewer hills. Lodging and food is also less expensive than Mt Tremblant.

I would love to go up there, but don't think it will work out for me this year. Still need to sort out all my problems with the car before I make a long trek too. Don't want to be disappointed AGAIN! I just got my new rear axles in today to remedy my rear end issue that showed its ugly head at Tremblant. And this weekend, I am pulling the motor apart one last time to get some of the small extra spare parts out of the oil pan, and timing chain area. Other than that it should be ready to rock and roll. With my track record, something else is bound to break next. We should start a pool to bet on how long my car lasts at the next event!!!

And for those of us who like to actually drive beyond just going in a straight line...the rest of the track is quite unbelievable as well.

I had to make a choice between going to Mosport or Mont Tremblant.. I don't regret going to Tremblant at all.....just wishing I could have afforded to have done both this year. :(

It is actually more like "watch all the Miatae dodge all the broken mustangs on the back straight", like big cones in a slalom :lol:

Mosport is NOT a horsepower track, it is a true momentum track! Unless you can't take turns 1,2,4,and 8 flat out.

Hey Scott, Do you have an SCCA license? Just curious if you are the same "Scott Rosnick" that is signed up to run next weekend's 6 hour enduro in a Spec Miata?

Looks to be a lot of COM guys there. :)
