The dust in the paddock area seem to settle down some and calcium chloride was not put down. Eventually the paddock will be seeded and hopefully grass will grow.

Are you sure? I've never felt so dried out after a track day. My lips were chapped and my eyes felt like a couple of bloodshot cotton balls after that event.

You should have been there on May 8th Mick. There were dust devils crossing the paddock. I am sure that as of this past Sunday no calcium chloride has been spread. The paddock wants to be grass in the future and the calcium chloride would hinder that. The dirt in the paddock was just spread on May 6th and there has been no real rain since then to help settle the dust. Driving over it has helped. Pray for rain.

A grass paddock???  I hope not....pavement or concrete is the way to go. Grass turns to MUD and we get a lot of rain..usually. This spring is quite unique. I can't remember a drier one in decades. Bloodshot cotton balls for eyes...Ha! Mine too. :sunny:

When the SCCA was applying for the permits to build the track, some government authority though it would be a bad idea to have a paved paddock blocking natural drainage. So the track has no paved paddock. Most of Lime Rock's paddock was unpaved for over 50 years,

Laura and I went also it was AWESOME we love the track. The dust in the paddock was not that bad, off line on track it was a bit dusty but the track is too cool and the amunt of work that it took to build it was incredible. We were describing it as a disney ride for adults with fast cars.
There are paved roads in the paddock but the truck parking will be grass that is fine.
This place will absolutely be a must go when finished. We cannot wait to go back on the 6th and 7th.....

The whole place is very dusty. When you get behind someone you're driving in a plume of dust. You'll want to show up with a clean air filter and plan on changing it when you're done.
I had a little agricultural expedition early on Sunday, and the dirt I just knocked out of the air filter is quite impressive.

Agricultural implies that there is something green. Perhaps you mean excavation excursion.

Whiskey Hill will indeed be an interesting track in the wet..Hell..it's a challenge in the dry. I better check the rain/mud tire situation.... ... :sunny:

I just ordered a car cover incase I want to leave Miata outside in the dust overnight (because I need the space to camp inside).
