thanks for the tip. I signed up. a little expensive but worth doing to make it 3 days in a row there.

ok cats out of the bag (event this weekend).

here are a few pics from about 4 weeks ago. images are large so that you can zoom in and see some details of the surrounding area:

Sorry about the slightly green tint (did not open window and have green plastic windows - did not have time to try and photoshop). I have a lot more but you get the idea from this.

Have you guys heard if/when they plan on installing curbing? There is a ton of dirt/debris on the track with there being no curbs or even grass.

Curbing and grass are coming. It's all about priorities and electricity, permanent buildings and a paved paddock seem to be in the queue as well. They are planning on using calcium chloride to keep the dust down and I heard hydroseeding too.
It has been a very very dry spring which is better than a very very wet spring, which would make for lots of mud...
The dust wasn't too bad and I don't even have a windshield...
Can't wait to get back there..try some new lines I've been going over in my head. What a great track! 8) :sunny:

I heard the curbing design is pretty complex because they are trying to design the track for use in both directions. So I am sure it's in the works, but not something you just throw out there.

Although I do like the track run clockwise,I think it's "safer" CCW. I can't imagine a high speed off on turn "8"....you would end up in Warren...

Curbing/turtles like Mt. Tremblant would be nice.. 8) :sunny:

The track looks awesome. Without the barriers it feels like a rally stage but on a nicely paved highway :)

Any ideas as far as facilities for significant others and kids? Any shade near the pits?

Thanks

I was there yesterday and I would suggest you bring your own shade (a pop-up or something similar).

Do they allow camping here?
I don't have an RV, just a tent. They don't list lodging on the site yet.

Thanks for the "scouting" report. I will bring a tent I guess.

Here is one option 7 miles from the track: http://www.copperlanternmotorlodge.com/
The other options I found are 25, 30 minutes from the track. Sturbridge seems to have options within a reasonable 20/30 minutes. Amherst has a few other options. Did not look towards the South West, but I'm sure there are more there.

Does anyone have the actual address for the entrance to Palmer? I could only find a PO box and driving directions on their website. I just want the address to punch into my nav. :?

Try 23 West Ware Road, Ware, MA. It should get you close.
It is right next door.
