COMSCC graphics sewn into suit

Post by n1gzd » Mon Mar 16, 2015 3:56 pm

Hi,
The company that I get my suit from (Velocita) does not recommend sewing patches onto the suit because you put holes through all of the layers of protection (less safe).
Does COMSCC provide the PDF file for the artwork to create any of the patches that they sell to people who want to supply the artwork to someone who can sew it on the outside cloth layer when creating the suit (to COMSCC members)?
I would be willing to pay the cost of a patch for any instances that I had made. I need to know soon because I am late in putting my order in if I so choose to do so.

thanks,
Rebecca

Rebecca, I can pull that together for you. Give me about 20 minutes.

You can buy permanent fabric adhesive and glue patches on. Mine have been through countless washings and still hold fast. (pun intended) :D :sunny:

Here you go. There are multiple versions in this file. You'll just need to tell them which one you want to use.

you can sew patches on . it's not the holes so much as the thread that used .
you have to use nomex thread if your going thru to the inner layer of the suit .
regular thread burns and if it does it will melt and it could burn you .
you could also if you wanted to use regular thread and only sew thru the top layer of the suit using a curved needle .
FIA , SCCA, NASCAR and many other SB state this in there rule books .
