I think we may see more and more of this sort of thing as tech savvy track folks and RC aviators come to events and these drones become more and more cost effective.

Many venues already have "no drones" signs. I have seen this at WGI.

Re: Interesting read regarding drones at the track.
at my last shop they had a air field for radio controlled airplanes . it was kind of cool to see some of the planes some of the people would fly .
the law should not effect the people doing that as long as the people flying them conduct them self's in a safe manner .
how ever the people with flying platforms for cameras should have different guide lines to go by as they are not the same as model plane flyers and not used in the same way .

As an event organizer, I found the liability on us concerning. As a participant, I would love to see the video but I would not want to have a crash with one. Should we not allow them at all or restrict them in some way? I hope the tracks sets a policy so that event organizers don't have to be the bad guys.

the thing about them is the liability .
I could see a track letting one or two video with in some boundaries .
the thing is what happens if one hits a car on the track ? or a person on track grounds ?
there has to be limits as to how many people are using them at on time along with were and how they are being used.

I have just been corrected (sternly) offline to refer to this as FPV (first person view) flying. I assume that using the term drone implies that there is a computer at the controls.

Re: Interesting read regarding drones at the track.
there was a thing on TV about the drones and exactly what they are .
the US military has what they call drones but a person can also take over flight controls .
what the show can down to was there was no clear definition of the word and just what a drone is .
some were saying any thing unmanned is a drone and others were saying only if it takes off flies and lands all by it's self is a drone .
