Re: Palmer
ample runoff, concrete barriers and catch fences will be installed before opening. Just because you have a 100 mile view from the upper parts of the track does not mean you will fly into the distance. Unless you mounted the wings upside down.

Re: Palmer
The catch fences are installed horizontally around the bottom of the track and extend outwards a hundred feet or so. They should catch everything.

Re: Palmer
The link provided shows 89db@50 feet for driving schools and 100db@50 feet for race club events. It is from a proposal/study dated 2007,so it may be outdated.

Chris, I am so Sorry. I know I dropped the ball. I mean this is the internet. If it is on the Internet, It has to be true. I mean the Internet is SRSX BZNS!
meā culpā, meā culpā, meā maximā culpā --I WILL never voice an opinion, or comment not based in fact EVER again on the Internet!
Where the hell is the sarcasm emoticon......
Not to get serious. the contract I read had the 2015 Track rules in it. 96DB @ 50 ft. Now I know LRP has different Db ratings based on who is renting the track for muffled days.
I wonder what Palmer/Whiskey hill will allow for Club racing.

Re: Palmer
Took a hike on the track today..it survived the winter blemish free and lots of progress on barricades. The access road is a thing of beauty and power is getting close. What a playground for car enthusiast this is going to be!! Hats off to Fast Freddy for making this a reality!

Re: Palmer
I attended a meeting recently that hosted Skip Barber himself as the guest speaker. He spent the entire time discussing improvements being performed at Limerock. His plans are quite impressive. When asked about Palmer as competition, he responded enthusiastically by saying the track was absolutely beautiful and that it should be a thrill to drive. His only concern was the runoff, and if that is being addressed then it is shaping up to be a world class course.

Re: Palmer
I signed up for a event at Palmer in early may .
I was hoping to just do a test and tune day but I don't see one listed on there site yet so I signed up for a HPDE day and I will use that for a test day .

Re: Palmer
Test days don't make a track much money..I don't think they even break even. Whiskey Hill Raceway may not be the best place to do a test and tune as they will be in test mode themselves.
Here is hoping Palmer Motorsports Park much success. I'd sign up for a life membership. Hell,I'd live up there if Fred ever sold lots...

Re: Palmer
they will have to start doing test days at some point .
I don't need the track for setting up the car I just need to go to a track and see if I can break the chain on the diasio . I installed a bone stock motor with 60 less HP then what I had totally redesigned the chain drive on the car and need to see if it will hold up before I start racing it again .
I was going to do it at Thompson but Palmer is not much farther to go .
