Mark it is a C&R trans and it is made by C&R Raditor

It works so good that is the best trans I have use but you can not just try to shift it slow.... you do need to hammer it both up and down

C&R..had to look that up..very interesting design..they also make a lightweight unit that was "outlawed" in Nascar, who then implemented a minimum 80lb trans rule.

A haulin-ass truck needs a rugged heavy racing transmission. Seems you made a good choice..

Like Bobc I also found the event to be excellent. The course was an interesting mix of fast and technical with very good pavement. Everything was clean and well maintained. The best cookout area of any track we have visited in a few years. Those of you that did not go, missed a marvelous facility, great weather and more track time than one could use.
I hope we can go back next year.

Blazer, that's a fast pickup. There is footage of your car in the video titled duryea hill climb clips that shows up after your video runs thru.
Do they run the same course as the old days? Mike Wilson and I went in about 1988, we were in the top ten but our times were over 2 minutes. Mike beat me by a tenth, but his car was going more than 25 MPH faster over the finish line. He was going about 125...
From a newspaper article: "Mike Wilson of Bolton, Mass., eighth, 2:06.553; Marcus Barrow of Brookline, Mass., ninth, 2:06.567"
Very few cars were able to get under 2 minutes in those days. At that event the police didn't seem real happy about it, I heard some sort of snarky comments from them. Then during my run I came around a blind turn and there was a police officer standing out on the road in front of a guard rail. It gave me a good scare, but I'm thinking it might have scared him more - he was behind the guard rail next time. I don't think I missed him by even 3 feet (not evan counting the back of a FF is wider than the front) and if I had even tried to flinch away from him I would have gone sideways right at him.

I am not sure where they started back then but they start at where the sky line drive starts and the rest is the same and now with the tires it is still hard to make it under 2min. but it is easier
If you are going to be at the glen we can talk which would be nice since I do know Mr. Wilson and race with him for 5 to 7 yrs doing the NEHA hills

Blazer, I can't make it to WGI, too bad I would like to. I'm planning on visiting during the Thompson event at the end of Sept. So I'll look for a white blur that might be a pickup...

Marcus I will be at Thompson if everything goes right in the next week or so. I am doing Watkins Glen and then the weekend after I will be in Weatherly P.A. doing a hill there.
I will be looking forward to meeting and talking about some of the old times and do you know how Mike is doing nowadays
have a good day and weekend Butch

Again, pretty late to this thread as well...
2 laps from the TT at Pocono - just making this video today made me cringe, watching the car slam over the transitions onto the long straight.
Thanks to Dave Lemoine for use of his GoPro 3.
