WGI late night arrivals

Post by 4EyedFoxbody » Wed Sep 03, 2014 11:30 am

Planning on driving to WGI Sunday afternoon. Wont be arriving at the track until probably 10 or 11pm. I wanted to know if the track handles campers like NHMS does? I am camping along with my brother in law and have never been to WGI before. Do they allow after hours access for trailers and camping? Thanks and look forward to seeing you all there!

I read the general topic about WGI. It doesn't give any specifics about time, access etc... If the gates lock at a certain time. We will be arriving late so knowing when we need to go ahead of time will help for sure!

There is a spectator event at WGI the day before our event and as a result we will NOT have access to the track at all on Sunday. However we WILL be allowed to drop off trailers on Sunday in the lot at Gate 5, top of hill past main gate. When parking your trailers at the above site, DO NOT park around the ticket office! Park trailers across the street in the field. EXCEPTION: If you are camping in your trailer, motor home, RV, etc. you MAY park on the tarmac adjacent to the Ticket Office. This will allow those camping to have use of the facilities as allowed by the track.
Drive past the track entrance and when you get to the top of the hill turn in to the left, there is plenty of room to park and camp. There should be some some electricity near the ticket office. You should see others there too.
To allow ample time for check-in and registration on Monday morning, members will be allowed to enter the facility at 6:00am. As previously mentioned: DO NOT occupy a garage until you have visited registration. The COM Sports Car Club registration area will be located in the Main Garage, and will open from 6:15-7:45 AM on Monday and 7:00-7:45 on Tuesday. At any of these times you will also be able to pay for garage space. The cost for a garage remains the same as previously - $50 per day per garage (providing ample room for two cars).
In the morning drive down the hill and into the track entrance from 6:15-7:45 AM on Monday. The should be camping in the paddock Monday night.
