Thompson July 27 & 28

Post by chaos4NH » Thu Jul 03, 2014 8:20 pm

Here is the latest from the folks at Thompson.
1. Guest list. I have been told that you will require list of non-drivers and charge $10 per person. Does that mean crew members, or just non participating spectators (family members, etc.) Just non-participating spectators. Is there a minimum age for attendance? No. Legal guardians must complete a minor release form, however. Each entry is allowed 3 "crew members" at no additional cost.

2. Camping. Where in the facility is this allowed? Campers attached to trailers may stay in the paddock. All others will be asked to move their campers to the field to the driver's left of the straightaway. COM has paid for member camping as part of our contract. I understand there are no facilities such as electric or sewer hook ups, if you could comment on how/where the camping works I would appreciate it. The bathrooms in the garage are unlocked from the outside to those in the paddock. Port-A-Johns can be arranged to be left in the other camping area. No dumping gray water or sewage on the property.

3. Bar/Restaurant/snack bar. What are the hours of operation? The concessions in the paddock are open from 7:30am-5:00pm. The Raceway Restaurant in the Clubhouse is open from 11am-9:00pm (or so. This is a loose time, and we usually stay open until our guests are done).

4. Paddock use. What paddock does COM have the use of and could you give directions and any restrictions or other pertinent information. COM has use of Paddock A (around garage), and the grass area in front the pro shop. The oval is also available for paddocking. Paddock B has NOT been rented by COM, but has been rented by an autocross group for the July event..

5. Fuel. Is there 93 octane available on site? Race fuel? Yes, also 98 unleaded, 112 leaded, and Diesel are also available.

6. Facility entry. Will we be allowed to enter on July 26th, Saturday afternoon/evening? What time would we be allowed to enter? Yes, after 7:00pm, and until 9:00pm. We will re-open at 7:00am. We will have security on through the overnight to allow those leaving the property to return. They will need their wristband, however.

7. Use of motorized paddock vehicles. Scooters, ATV's, etc allowed? ATV's and golf carts are fine. No two wheel scooters (i.e. razors) or small motorized bikes that cannot be registered.

8. Garage rental. Is there electric? What is the cost and who would we see to secure a garage? Yes, there is electric in the garage. Cords may not be run from the garage across the travel lane to trailers or campers at any time. . Please advise your members that they can reserve on our website. The cost is $175 for the two days. Garages will be closed every evening at 9:00pm, and re-opened each morning at 7:00am.

9. We will be allowed a track WALK Sunday morning. NO BICYCLES. 800 - 1000

10. No race engines prior to 1200 on Sunday or after 700 PM Sunday.

11. Registration will be Sunday morning from 900 - 1000.

Questions:

Track walk Sunday morning..ok..any idea closer to a specific hour? I was planning on being there 10ish..but could arrive earlier if the walk may happen before then.

Will visitors be allowed entry without knowing a secret handshake?

Thanks. :sunny:

Are the garages gold plated? Do they come with cold running champagne in each bay at that price?

Thanks Sam.How about guest entry..just the usual sign-in required? I have a couple of locals interested in watching, and potential future commies. :D :sunny:
Maybe the garages have lifts..and tools. That does seem steep for bay rental..

Why don't you just pay for a bay and work out sharing it with your others on your own (like hotel rooms), That is what I'd do. If you want to just "set up camp" with a few to stay dry and out of the sun.
