I have a question about street tires on track. What is the recommended tread depth for street tires. I dont have the cash right now for racing rubber,if I buy tires I doubt I can afford to go racing. I would like to get on the track at least once this year. Should I expect chunking of my street tires or should I get them shaved down a little bit. Right now I have BF Goodrich T/A's on the car with about 75% tread left.
thanks

You would have to get new tires shaved. I've never heard of any places that will shave used tires.
But that doesn't mean there isn't such a place.

What car do you drive and in what class?
Unles its somethign mental I would say just get on the track on your current tires.
You only need to shave them if they are new and if they are super high performance tires.
