Palmer Motorsports Park
Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
I can't WAIT for this track to come online so we (the SCCA) can eliminate greedy Lime Rock from our schedule. We're touring the facilities at Thompson in the next month or two and have two dates (July and Oct) on the schedule there for next season. Thanks again Fred for taking the reins of this project!

Re: Palmer Motorsports Park

i'm thinking NO and not just NO but HELL NO !
so many other clubs are liking the new tracks come soon and i think most will tend to be looking to run at them and drop some of LRP's events from there schedule .

Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
I've been following the development of the Palmer Motorsports Park for 6 or 7 years... I'd given up on it a couple years ago, and was happy to see it back on track this past Summer.
Here's a Google map of what I think is the track's approximate location and orientation (based on some photos, so don't assume it's accurate):

Thanks for all the info in this thread, and to everyone involved in the project!

Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
Track layout has been changed and improved somewhat to include a large paddock in the infield. Take a look at the second photo in my set that is of the blueprint.adam wrote:I've been following the development of the Palmer Motorsports Park for 6 or 7 years... Yeah, that layout looks better than the initially proposed one. Its photo and the aerial photos are what I based the Google map on:brucesallen wrote:Track layout has been changed and improved somewhat to include a large paddock in the infield. I can see a few spots where it's off, but it's just a rough approximation.

Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
There is a tunnel under the track to the infield paddock. No Mosport-style waits.zchris wrote:Bruce, is there a plan for a bridge into the paddock or a you a hostage once your in. Thanks

Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
Well I got the grand tour today with Fred. And I can genuinely say Palmer will be an awsome rollercoaster of a track. The pics you have seen do no justice to the magnitude of the project and coarse. Grand would be an understatement. There getting the landscape roughed in now and if winter isn't to harsh the track foundation should be done in the spring. I am way more excited about Palmer than Thompson. Palmer will not be an easy learn. With both high and low speed turns and large elevation changes this will be a very challenging track. Next time you see Fred give him an atta boy for bringing this facility to the northeast.

Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
Do you have and depictions of what the facility will look like other than the track layout?
Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
What's the real story with current funding for Palmer now that the casino is a no-go?

Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
To respond to a few inquiries, the track layout is basically as shown on the track info page of the web site (http://www.palmermotorsportspark.com), there are CAD-based views from various perspectives, these do NOT depict runoff or banking or buildings and some track refinements (no kink on straight, a corkscrew section):

The casino is (and always was) largely irrelevant. The main impact will be lodging and local infrastructure.

Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
Looks like a golf course.. (what's with the sand bunkers?)
It's not what you drive, it's how you drive. "Lap times matter"
Re: Palmer Motorsports Park
Wow that is impressive, do you have anything showing how it will look from the road. I live across the street and if it turns out like the depiction and looks just as good from the streetIcan't wait to visit and maybe put one of my cars on it!!boltonite wrote:To respond to a few inquiries, the track layout is basically as shown on the track info page of the web site (http://www.palmermotorsportspark.com), there are CAD-based views from various perspectives, these do NOT depict runoff or banking or buildings and some track refinements (no kink on straight, a corkscrew section):
