Mario was a great man. He was as courageous on the track as he was in sickness; always enthusiastic, never shaken, never wavering. Some of my most fond memories with COM include Mario.
He will be missed terribly by all who knew him.

This is very sad news. I am glad I got to talk with Mario at Tremblant, he still ran pretty quick times for the health he was in. He had told me about his condition and that this was going to be his last season of racing. Mario was a very nice and genuine person. He will be missed.

Mario was 'one of us'. Passionate about competitive driving, racing, and COM. The passion that was passed on to his son Mike, who has attended a couple events, including our most recent event at NHMS. Mario was a great guy. Godspeed man, we miss you already.

Re: It is with great sadness....
Perhaps my favorite COM memories occurred battling Mario right down to the last event at Limerock 1 year. I will fondly remember him as a fierce competitor and true gentleman. I had the pleasure of meeting his son, Mike, at the last event and giving Mike's fiance a hot lap ride along. The circle of life continues as Mario's spirit is evident in both of them. You are in my thoughts.
