Removal of side windows in SP?

The electric motor(s) for my power windows is dead, and now I will need to fix it. I was wondering though, if I could just remove the windows altogether and save myself some work. Looks like replaceing the motor would be a project for someone with small hands, and a lot of patience. I have neither these days!

Joel I think they're supposed to be there. I removed my window motors and gutted the doors for this season. Have to add door bars to the cage if you don't already have them, net result on my car was 50# less weight and a much stiffer chassis.
I made up some lexan side windows for storage and transport.

My cage has a bar that goes across the door, plus the inside of the door has a welded in cross bar that goes aross the middle of the door. The bar is roughly the same size as the tubing in my cage. Would this be ok? Do you have any pictures of what you have done to yours? I just don't want to show up at Mt Tremblant, and have someone tell me that it is not okay.

Joel, I made sure the door bars had enough of a bend (nascar bars) to them that made it necessary to gut the doors. I'll try to take some pics and email them. The car is on the trailer and tough to get into.

O well....that sounds like too much work for me right now. I guess I will just break down and fix the power windows and be done with it then. Sounds like that will the the easiest and cheapest way for me now.

Joel, sorry about the lack of pictures. Work sucks right now. ASSistant MGR. quite and 1 of my tire techs is getting free meals courtesy of the state- if you know what I mean. These 96 deg days don't help much either. I'll get some pics this weekend.
