Books on driving?
Books on driving?
Hello!
Not sure if this is the right area, but I'm looking for books on driving? Any recommendations...
I recently finished "The Unknown Art of Driving". Interesting read.
He has a facebook page with some cool tips and such:

What have you read?
Cheers!

"Ultimate Speed Secrets" by Ross Bentley is a great read.
It's not what you drive, it's how you drive. "Lap times matter"

having dyslexia i will have to say i'm not a big reader but when it comes to books on car set up ,aerodynamics and driving i try and read evry book i can on that or if it's on tape /CD i will buy them too .
the skip barber book is ok i though ? i was to much info in some things and not enough on others .
all and all it was a good read and worth buying .
Re: Books on driving?
The Skippy book is good for general principles, but lots of it can be skipped (get it?). The Bentley books are great and offer more than just technical information. I do "cross-crawls" in my car on grid before every race once the 5-minute whistle sounds.

I read a lot the COM Classroom Materials by 4 time Class Champion Stephan ... portions co-authored by multi-Champion Nate ... it's special edition, for COM students only and not available in bookstores ...

Re: Books on driving?
If it is still in print: Driving in Competition by Alan JOhnson. He still has the best discussion of type I, II and III turns using photos of little model cars on paper. I still teach these terms. He specifically follows through getting an SCCA license. Only 30 years out of date.
