Watkins Glen - Track Open 8:30-6:00 on Day 1

Wonder if we'll get extra session(s), longer sessions or if it will be open track at the end of the day. This is a welcome trade-off for not being able to drop off and unload on Sunday evening. Thank you, BOD!

No open track. After reviewing the participation list it was clear to me that we had another WGI event chock full of 'Group 1' cars. I'm thinking one student group and 3 licensed groups, as opposed to 2 licensed groups. We'll see how it goes as I did deeper into the schedules. Asking for more time was a no-brainer and is relatively affordable.

We know Group 1 is routinely full at WGI, and that a single mechanical in each session can ruin everyone's day. That is why we've instituted our mechanical/leak/piece-of-junk policy. Tech will pull fun-tickets of habitual problem cars. 2 strikes at most, and yer out!

Ideally there will be more quality time, and a greater quantity of time for all drivers. If I have to choose, I'm going for quality with the added benefit of having some extra 'fudge' time to slide the schedule should we encounter any issues.

The time will not be arbitrarily dedicated to 'open track', that is for sure.

Are you thinking of splitting G1 using lap times as a guide?
